Atomenergoprom concern to be formed by Jan 1, 2008 - Kiriyenko

KRASNOKAMENSK, Chita Region, May 31 (Itar-Tass) -- The nuclear power industry concern Atomenergoprom will be formed by January 1, 2008, the chief of the Russian atomic energy agency Rosatom, Sergei Kiriyenko said after a working meeting with local public in the city of Krasnokamensk – the site of Russia’s biggest uranium mining facility – the Priargunsky Mining and Chemical Association.

As he dwelt on plans for reforming the nuclear power industry, Kiriyenko said that its civilian component would be concentrated in the Atomenergoprom concern.

“The association will be finalized by the end of the year,” he said.
