Burutin to head Russia’s new shipbuilding corporation
MOSCOW, March 19 (Itar-Tass) - Russia’s new Joint Shipbuilding Corporation will be headed by Alexander Burutin.
His candidature was proposed by First Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov and supported by President Vladimir Putin on Monday.
Burutin has been an adviser to the Russian president on military-technical issues and the development of the defence industry since April 2003.
According to Putin, a package of decrees on the creation of the shipbuilding corporation will be signed on Wednesday.
“I have issued instructions to prepare a draft decree on the creation of the shipbuilding corporation within a week,” he said.
“The package of decree is ready. It’s right here. And it has been initialed by the government. It only needs to be initialed by Mikhail Yefimovich [Fradkov],” Ivanov said.
“I have a meeting with Mikhail Yefimovich on Wednesday, and we will sign it on Wednesday,” Putin replied.
